A co-educational school from Kindergarten through Year 10 — where God's Word shapes everything we teach.
John Calvin School is run by the Free Reformed School Association (Tas) Inc. — established to help parents fulfil the baptismal promise to raise their children in the knowledge and fear of the Lord.
This is not just another independent school. God's Word, as confessed in the standards of the Free Reformed Church, is the foundation for and permeates everything we teach. Since all of creation is under the dominion of Christ, all aspects of education are subject to His authority.
Founded by Dutch Reformed migrant families in the 1950s, we opened in 1965 with 52 students and two teachers. Society has changed — our mission has not.
"Tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done."
Psalm 78:4Every part of our school — from curriculum to community — exists to equip children for a life in God's service.
God's Word is not an add-on — it's the lens through which everything is taught. Understanding why matters.

We deliver the Australian Curriculum from Foundation to Year 10 and the Early Years Learning Framework for Kindergarten — all through a Christian Worldview that shapes how every area is taught.
We welcome families from the Free Reformed Church community who share our conviction that God's Word must be at the centre of education.
